Description

Job Description: Care Home Chef, where you’ll be involved in every aspect of the kitchen. From planning menus and leading your team to ensuring high food standards and a great dining experience for the residents.

Key Responsibilities:

* Coordinate all kitchen production to meet standards and deadlines.

* Order and manage stock from suppliers.

* Train and coach junior staff.

* Ensure all HACCP and COSHH requirements are met.

* Implement and supervise kitchen control (menus, hygiene, health and safety, staff, cleaning, waste control).

* Prepare menus considering content, balance, colour, and nutritional values within budget.

* Consult with residents to meet their dietary needs and preferences.

* Prepare special diets as directed by nursing staff.

* Maintain agreed stock levels and implement a deep cleaning schedule.

* Conduct monthly kitchen audits and report findings.

* Assist in preparing function menus and costing.

* Attend resident/relative meetings and cooperate with requests from the General Manager and residents.

Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications:

Required:

* Flexibility to cover weekends and/or rotating shifts with the current chef.

* Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.

* Good communication skills.

* Team player.

* Satisfactory DBS check.

Desired:

* Experience in food preparation for the relevant client group
