On behalf of a lovely small Care Home in Drayton Pure Care are currently seeking a friendly and dedicated Cook or Chef to join their team on a permanent contract. The core responsibilities will be to deliver high quality, home cooked meals for the residents working in an extremely rewarding setting.

This is a full time, permanent Chef position paying up to an initial £13.00 per hour. The shift times are 7am-5pm / 8am-6pm working full time, 40 hours per week.

This role is working in a fantastic 27 bedded Elderly Home that is rated ‘Good’ in all areas in their CQC report and has a great reputation in the local area. The successful Chef candidate will ideally have a valid Food Hygiene Certificate or similar, and previous experience of working in a Care Home, School or similar environment would be advantageous but is not essential.

A good understanding of Health and Safety and COSHH guidelines is required within the Chef role. Formal Chef training is not necessary as the home are more looking for a friendly and dedicated individual who can cook traditional and nutritious meals from fresh, although any catering qualification would be beneficial.

Care Home Cook / Chef Main Duties:

* Responsible for the catering services within the Home on the days you are working

* Cook using fresh ingredients made from scratch as much as possible

* Prepare nutritious meals, paying particular attention to any special dietary requirements

* Have a full understanding of Health & Safety as well as Food Hygiene issues, COSHH, and working within the guidelines relating to cross infection
