WMC RECRUITMENT is currently seeking for an Early years Educatorwho has great leadership and team management skills for a nursery in Welling.

Working as the Senior Nursery Practitioner / Early Years Educator you will work alongside the management team to provide a high level of professional leadership and management to all playroom-based staff and to ensure that all children receive the highest possible standards of care and education.

As the Senior Nursery Practitioner / Early Years Educator you will support the nursery school to comply with all regulatory requirements, provide a high standard of care and education, support playroom staff in their roles and maintain positive working relationships with staff, parents and carers.

DUTIES

Your duties as the Senior Nursery Practitioner / Early Years Educator include:

  • Work closely with children, looking after their daily needs such as feeding, nappy changing and toileting
  • Ensure the safeguarding and welfare of all children in your care
  • Work as part of a team to deliver and meet the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage for all children
  • Provide an enabling environment that meets the needs of each individual child
  • Provide individualised attention and support to each child’s needs
  • Plan, provide and support age-appropriate play opportunities in line with the curriculum and individual needs of the children in your care
  • Monitor and assess children’s learning outcomes, identifying areas for improvement or additional support
  • Be a key person to an allocated number of children and their families
  • Observe, assess and record childrens learning and development progress
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with parents/carers
  • Ensure standards of health and safety, hygiene and cleanliness are maintained at all times
  • In partnership with Deputy Managers, oversee and ensure the effective organisation within the room, while acting as a role model to other practitioners, promoting positive interactions and good deployment techniques
  • Liaise and work in partnership with external agencies (both statutory and voluntary) to support children within the setting as appropriate
  • Attend additional training events and meetings as identified by the Nursery Manager for training requirements

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Level 3 Early Years qualification with experience working in an early years setting
  • Safeguarding and Child Protection training
  • Understanding of the statutory requirements of legislation concerning Equal Opportunities, Health and Safety, SEND and Child Protection
  • Knowledge of The Childcare Act (2006)
  • EYFS welfare, learning and development requirements
  • Strong understanding of the EYFS
