Masterclass Education is currently recruiting on behalf of a wonderful SEN primary school in the Worthing area for a SEN Support Assistant. This school offers a welcoming and supportive environment where children are encouraged to thrive both academically and personally. With impressive outdoor learning spaces, the school places great emphasis on extending education beyond the classroom.
The successful candidate will work closely with children with additional needs, providing targeted support either one-to-one or in small groups, both in and out of the classroom. You will receive guidance and collaboration from Teachers and other support staff, and you’ll be fully integrated into school life, encouraged to take initiative and contribute meaningfully to the team.
Masterclass Education also offers CPD-certified online training to all candidates, with courses including Safeguarding, Autism Awareness, Understanding Child Development, Violence Reduction, and many more.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support children’s development across all areas, tailored to their individual needs
* Encourage and promote positive behaviour management strategies
* Assist the class teacher by working with small groups or individual pupils
* Create and maintain a safe, secure, and happy learning environment
* Foster positive, respectful relationships with both pupils and staff
* Commit to inclusive practices, ensuring every child has the opportunity to succeed
* Provide personal care when necessary
