Arnos Manor Hotel is a beautifully unique 73-bedroom hotel featuring a bustling bar, restaurant, and adaptable meeting and event space for up to 200 guests, all housed within a stunning listed building. Built in the 17th century, the hotel has retained many of its original features, offering a charming and distinctive atmosphere.
Cook opportunity at Arnos Manor Hotel- a great opportunity for a passionate Cook for 16 hours per week to join the team on a part time basis at this wonderful property.
Job Overview:
In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality dishes while maintaining food safety and hygiene standards. You will work closely with the Assistant Manager and Food & Beverage team to deliver exceptional dining experiences for our guests.
Key responsibilities and duties of Cook
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to the hotel’s menu and guest preferences.
- Ensure all meals are presented to a high standard and meet hotel quality guidelines.
- Kitchen Hygiene & Safety: Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, following food safety regulations and hygiene protocols.
- Assist in stock control, including inventory checks and proper storage of ingredients.
- Work efficiently with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service during busy periods.
- Contribute ideas for new dishes and seasonal menu changes.
- Accommodate special dietary requests and ensure guest satisfaction with every meal.
- Ensures that all dishes are prepared consistently and according to standard recipes.
- Monitors food and operating costs and controls these by reducing waste.
- Ensures the cleaning standards for kitchen are being met.
- Ensures that operating and kitchen equipment is maintained to a good standard with minimum breakage.
- Provides fast, friendly, professional and responsive customer service to the restaurant service delivery team.
- Stays focused and is conscious about food presentation and consistency.
- Demonstrate effective food handling procedures.
- Demonstrate good knife handling skills.
- Correctly wrap, label, date and store all food items in their correct areas.
- Sets up, operates and cleans all kitchen machinery/equipment and stores it in its proper place.
- Maintains complete knowledge of correct maintenance and handling of equipment, using only as intended and only after proper training has been demonstrated.
- Keeps workstation clean at all times during service time.
- Performs all duties in adherence to all company standards and policy.

- Passionate about food with a sound operational background.

- Commitment to delivering excellent service.
Experience & Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Kitchen Assistant, Cook or Chef in a Hotel, Restaurant, or similar environment.
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen best practices (e.g., HACCP and Food Safety certification preferred).
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
