Cover Administrator
Salary: £25,000 – £27,000 per annum dependent on expereince
Contract: Term-time + 2 weeks + PD Days
Are you an organised and proactive individual looking for a dynamic role in a thriving educational setting? We are working with a school who is seeking a dedicated Cover Administrator to join our team.
About the Role
As a Cover Administrator, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth daily operation of staff cover within the Academy. Reporting to the Assistant Principal for Curriculum, Timetabling & Operations, you will oversee the Cover Diary, liaise with supply agencies, and provide administrative support to ensure minimal disruption to student learning.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing staff cover arrangements, including tracking staff absences and scheduling cover supervisors or external supply teachers.
* Proactively covering lessons where needed to minimise the use of external staff.
* Liaising with supply agencies, arranging cover staff, and ensuring they are welcomed and supported upon arrival.
* Maintaining accurate records of staff absence and reporting daily updates to key staff members.
* Working with HR on long-term cover bookings and ensuring all records are up to date.
* Assisting in the production of key data reports for meetings with the Board of Trustees, Local Authority, and Ofsted.
* Supporting the organisation of the Academy calendar and staff duty rotas.
* Promoting the welfare and safeguarding of children and young people in accordance with Academy policies.
About You

* Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
* Proactive and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
* A confident communicator, able to liaise with staff at all levels.
* Comfortable using IT systems for administration and record-keeping.
* Adaptable, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Working Hours
* Monday to Friday, 6:45 AM – 3:00 PM.
* Term-time plus 2 additional weeks and PD days.
* Availability during pre-results and results days in August is required.
