In this role, you will supervise classes during the short-term absence of teachers, ensuring that students remain engaged in their learning and follow the work set. Key Responsibilities:
Supervise classes and ensure students stay on task with set work.
Manage classroom behaviour and create a positive learning atmosphere.
Support student’s understanding of the lesson content.
Follow and uphold school policies and procedures.
Provide feedback to teachers about student progress and any issues that arise during cover sessions.
Skills & Qualities:
A successful Cover Supervisor should have:
Confidence & Authority: Ability to manage a classroom and maintain a positive learning environment.
Strong Communication Skills: To effectively engage with students and liaise with teaching staff.
Adaptability & Initiative: Flexibility to cover different subjects and year groups as needed.
Experience or Qualifications: Previous experience working with young people in an educational setting, or a relevant qualification, is essential for this role.
