Responsibilities

We are currently seeking Domestic/Laundry Assistant to join our team. This is a full time role with 35 hrs/week. We are looking for flexibility to work on weekends.

To carry out daily / weekly domestic and laundry responsibilities such as –

Empty waste bins and wipe out, vacuuming.

Clean dining rooms / lounges / lavatories

Clean taps and sinks, soap dishes, toothbrush holders

Spot clean all floorings & p

olishing all mirrors

Clean all pipework in lavatories

Dusting & polishing all fixtures , furniture and other belongings in the home as required.

Move all mobile furniture (including beds and chairs)

Wash lino floors, shampoo carpets as requested by Home Manager

En-suites – remove seat cushions and vacuum / clear out

Restock toiletries, soaps, towels etc as and when required

Ensure the laundry of residents clothing is to the highest standard, including ironing.

Ensure the laundry is collected and returned to the correct area of the home on a regular basis, and personal clothing of residents is put away in a neat and tidy manner.

Ensure that all residents’ wardrobes and clothing drawers are kept clean, neat, and tidy.

Ensure that the laundry equipment is correctly and safely used and kept in a safe condition.

Other General responsibilities are

Participate in Staff and Client meetings as required

Attend mandatory training days/courses, on or off site, as and when required

Maintain professional knowledge and competence Adhere to the Care home’s disposal of waste policy

Report immediately to the Home Manager, or Person in Charge, any illness of an infectious nature or accident incurred by a Client, colleague, self or another

Understand and ensure the implementation of the Care homes Health and Safety policy, and Emergency and Fire procedures

Report to the Home Manager, or the Handyperson, any faulty appliances, damaged furniture, equipment or any potential hazard Ensure all equipment is clean and well maintained

Promote safe working practice in the Care Centre and ensure the good reputation of the Care Centre.

Adhere to all Company policies and procedures within the defined timescales.

Qualifications and Skills

Required:

Team player

Good communication skills

Satisfactory Police Check and check against the POVA List (where applicable)

The home caters 60 residents and offers Nursing and Residential care. We care for elderly and frail people including Cancer Care, Colitis & Crohn’s Disease, Epilepsy, Hearing Impairment, Huntington’s disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s Disease and Stroke. Facility & Services we offer are Palliative Care, Day Care, Respite Care, Convalescent Care, and Separate EMI Unit
