Description

To ensure the effective operation and efficiency of all food and beverage services with the standard and budget limitation set by the Head of Civic Catering.

2.2To be responsible for the effective organization and control of all normal catering functions and to liaise with the Head of Civic Catering for additional functional catering requirements.

2.3To order, receive and inspect all goods purchase for quality, price, quantity and condition in accordance with Birmingham City Council & departmental procedures.

2.4To participate in the preparation, presentation and provision of all dishes and customer services to the highest standards required by the department.t

2.5To ensure appropriate induction and training for all catering staff as identified through relevant appraisals, in consultation with the Head of Civic Catering

2.6To ensure that relevant statutory, BCC and departmental hygiene (including rotation of stock) & Health & Safety Regulations are observed at all times.

2.7To ensure effective security and control of food, all monies, cutlery, china, tableware, glassware, linen stocks and income, including associated documentation

2.8To ensure that food, employee and sundry costs are in line with pre-determined targets, including investigation of variance in both areas.

2.9To be responsible for the day to day running for the site and ensure adequate staffing levels are

engaged to cover all operational hours.

3To ensure adherence to departmental procedures for booking and documentation of wages and all relevant bookwork.

3.1To attend training courses as identified through post training profile.

3.2To assist with the development of BCC an departmental customer care policies

3.3To ensure whenever possible the work and spirit of BCCs equal opportunities in employment policy is fully advanced.

3.4Actively communicate and promote the policies of the Department during day to day performance of duties.

3.5To ensure compliance with all Catering Quality procedures as defined in the Catering Quality Procedure manual and to maintain relevant documentation.

3.6Any other commensurate with the grading of the post.
