Day-to-day of the role:

  • Provide emergency medical support to pupils.
  • Gain and apply specialist medical knowledge through training.
  • Support the Healthcare Supervisor in monitoring pupils’ medical needs.
  • Manage medications, ensuring safe storage and accurate logs.
  • Communicate with parents about their child’s health.
  • Collaborate with class teachers to minimize the impact of medical interventions on learning.
  • Maintain accurate records using paper and ICT.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, setting high expectations.
  • Follow safe systems of work for moving and handling pupils.
  • Promote inclusion and acceptance of all pupils.
  • Comply with health, safety, security, confidentiality, and data protection policies.
  • Safeguard all pupils and promote their welfare by following child protection procedures.
