Job Overview:

The company was awarded funding as part of the Government’s 3-year funding plan for Levelling Up across the UK, to focus on three key areas: communities and place, supporting local businesses, and people and skills. As the funding enters its final year in April 2024, the Council aims to concentrate on residents who are economically inactive, delivering targeted interventions in employability and digital skills.

The company is seeking a highly motivated and resourceful tutor to deliver employability and digital skills programmes across the Chesterfield borough. This role involves working in public settings such as community centres and libraries. You will be responsible for engaging learners, encouraging participation, and delivering high-quality, tailored learning sessions.

Your strong communication skills and approachable demeanour will be critical, as the role focuses on working with individuals who may have previously experienced barriers to education or training, or who may be reluctant to upskill.

Assessment and Planning: Conduct initial and diagnostic assessments to inform high-quality, innovative delivery that inspires learners. Set clear objectives and involve learners in planning, reviewing, and evaluating their progress.

Programme Delivery: Deliver effective, high-quality teaching across a range of ability levels (Entry 1 to Level 2), meeting academic and funding criteria and supporting learners in achieving their goals.

Learner Monitoring: Continuously assess and monitor learner development through individual learning plans, adapting teaching strategies to ensure learner success.

Advice and Guidance: Provide general advice on progression opportunities, pre-programme information, and entry criteria.

Resource Development: Produce or adapt relevant, engaging teaching materials based on learners’ needs, conducting research where required.

Administration and Compliance: Maintain up-to-date administrative records (e.g., registers, work marking, absence monitoring, and funding documentation) to ensure compliance with quality procedures and funding requirements.

Team Collaboration: Attend and contribute to team meetings, standardisation meetings, and internal quality assurance (IQA) activities as needed.
