We have an exciting opportunity for an Executive Assistant to support the PVC Dean of Salford Business School and lead our established school Executive Support Team.

Reporting directly to the School Business Manager you will be the main point of support for the PVC Dean at Salford Business School. This exciting and varied role encompasses full responsibility for executive support to the PVC Dean, including effective stakeholder and diary management, and interacting with academics, industry professionals, and colleagues across the university.

Our team provides first-class executive support to the school Senior Leadership Team. The EA to the PVC Dean also leads this team, as we aspire to excellence through collaboration, pioneering change, and optimising practice.

The role:

  • Provide high level of professional support including external relations, extensive inbox and complex diary management, communications, travel, conference organisation and general secretarial support.
  • Offer high quality, front line professional service for visitors to the PVC Deans Office liaising effectively and with sensitivity to maintain the strong reputation of the University
  • Manage the Executive Support Office and staff members
  • Review and efficiently collate incoming documentation, communications, correspondence, reports, speeches and briefing papers as required
  • Ensure that sensitive and confidential issues, information, and data are handled in an appropriate manner, ensuring compliance with GDPR and University regulations
  • Foster collaboration across schools and the wider university, role-modelling the Salford behaviours in all interactions

  • Previous PA experience with the ability to contribute to and inform practice
  • IT proficiency, particularly with Excel to store, organise, and analyse data at an intermediate/advanced level
  • Ability to create reports, agendas, meeting slides and minutes with Microsoft 365
  • An excellent level of accuracy and attention to detail, and ability to work to very tighttimeframes and deadlines
  • Continuous improvement by and looking for smarter ways of working
  • Problem solving in a structured and methodical way
  • Experience of line management
