Position: SEN Teaching Assistant

Are you a compassionate, resilient, and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in childrens lives?
We are seeking a dedicated SEN TA to join a vibrant school in East London, providing tailored support to pupils with special educational needs. This role requires someone who is not only passionate about inclusive education but also confident in providing personal care where necessary.
Responsibilities:
- Offer 1:1 and group support for pupils with a range of SEN, including ASD, ADHD, and PMLD.
- Assist with personal care routines, including toileting and feeding, ensuring dignity and respect at all times.
- Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
- Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Use a variety of strategies to support pupils’ communication, social, and emotional development.
Requirements:
- Experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant in a school setting.
- A resilient and positive attitude with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Confidence in providing personal care.
- Knowledge of Makaton, PECs, or other communication systems is desirable.
- A relevant qualification in child care or education is advantageous but not essential.
