My very busy well-established manufacturing clients established in 1970 now encompasses four divisions, designed to ensure our customers receive the best product and services. They are now recruiting an Extruder Setter/Operator to ensure the maximum efficiency of the production lines. Very friendly well-run company.
8am-4.30pm Mon-Thurs
8am -1pm Friday
37 hours per week
Starting on £13-14 per hour DOE. £26936K max
Paid weekly to start with then after qualifying period paid monthly
28 hols. Increasing after lengths of service
After qualifying period

Responsibilities/ Experience:
Setting and operating extruder machines.
Ensure safety of work area.
Perform quality control checks.
Basic machine maintenance.
Trouble shooting machine issue.
- Ideally have lots of previous experience on extruder or moulding machines
- Have an engineering bias or knowledge is expected
There is a significant amount of changeover work required and being an entirely manual process an understanding of engineering principles and having an engineering sensitivity is required. A simple example could be knowing when a bolt has bottomed out rather than is just tight. Importantly being able to see an outcome on the machine and interpret what machine settings could have driven the outcome, such that they can logically address the machine settings to revise the outcome.
