The EYFS Teaching Assistant Job
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced EYFS Teaching Assistant to join an Outstanding rated school in London to work with young people with severe learning difficulties. You will provide one-on-one support, helping students engage with their learning and develop independence, literacy and mathematics skills. If you have patience, creativity, and a desire to make a real impact in the lives of these pupils, we would love to hear from you!

The successful EYFS Teaching Assistant applicant will be given an exciting opportunity to work as a part of a large special needs school in Lambeth where your energy and experience will be valued as you play an important part working each day towards the schools aim to meet the varied needs of its students.

As a EYFS Teaching Assistant you will enjoy a high degree of job satisfaction as you have the opportunity to apply your skills to working with EYFS or key stage 1 students who need support building their independence and through play and art therapy.

Support and training offered every week to further develop your knowledge and skills as teaching assistant for children with varied needs.
You will be working with skilled Teachers and other EYFS Teaching Assistant’s in a classroom environment The Teaching Assistant Responsibilities

Work with class teachers to raise the learning of pupils
Promote pupil’s independence, self-esteem and social inclusion
Give support to pupils, individually or in groups, so they can access the curriculum, take part in learning and experience a sense of achievement
Support with planning, preparation and resourcing for lessons that promote play-based learning
Promote, support and facilitate inclusion by encouraging participation of all pupils in learning and extracurricular activities
Use effective behaviour management strategies consistently in line with the school’s policy and procedures
Organise and manage teaching space and resources to help maintain a stimulating and safe learning environment
Support with personal care when needed with other staff members The EYFS Teaching Assistant Applicant

The ideal EYFS Teaching Assistant applicant will be have the following qualities:

Enjoyment of working with young people
Experience working with EYFS SEN students or students in a nursery setting
Sensitivity and understanding, to help build good relationships with pupils
A commitment to getting the best outcomes for all pupils
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality at all times
Commitment to safeguarding pupil’s well-being and equality
Honest, hardworking, transparent with a willingness to learn and develop
Good organisational skills
Ability to build effective working relationships with pupils and adults
The ability to remain calm in stressful situations
