Field Service Engineer

Title – Field Service Engineer

Hours – 8am-5pm Monday – Friday 40 hrs

Salary – £14.00 p/hr

Location – Pontefract

Role – Permanent

This is an exciting opportunity for the successful Field Service Engineer to work for an power generator supplier, they gained themselves a reputation for excellence within that time, due to a steady increase in orders and machines they are now looking to recruit and bolster out their field service teams where duties will include:

* Carry out planned service and maintenance of own generators in the field and at our depot (s)

* Carry out planned service and maintenance of customers generators

* Service, fault find and carry out breakdown repairs

* Preparation of equipment for on-hire, including servicing, repairing, cleaning and testing

* On-site fault finding and subsequent rectification and testing of equipment

* Apply proper engine technical skills in inspections and disassembly

* Start-up load bank testing

* Maintain a stock of equipment in your van

* Ensure that the depot and your vehicle is kept clean and tidy

* Part of on-call rota (includes evenings, weekends and bank holidays)

* Maintain regular consistent and professional attendance, punctuality, personal appearance, and adherence to all Company handbooks and policies.

* Carry out all works in accordance to Health and safety

* Ensure the completion of relevant paperwork is submitted accurately and in a timely manner

* Perform all duties in an efficient, professional and courteous manner

Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors and general public

It is expected that the successful Field Service Engineer will have experience of working in a field service or electrical maintenance role previously and:

* Prior experience in maintaining diesel generators between 14 kva and 1400 kva is essential

* Exposure with controller configurations and installations would be highly advantageous

* Ideally qualified at Apprenticeship, NVQ, HNC/HND or City and Guilds level in an Engineering discipline

* Full UK Driving licence (preferably clean), with the ability to drive commercial vehicles

* Fork Lift Truck to B2 an advantage
