SaxaVord Spaceport in Shetland, is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Rotational General Steward. The role involves providing exceptional customer service across the hospitality function at the accommodation facility at SaxaVord Spaceport, ensuring all areas are clean, well-maintained, and offer an outstanding experience for staff, clients and visitors. You will perform general cleaning duties, serve food, handle guest inquiries, and assist with various tasks that contribute to the smooth running of SaxaVord Spaceport’s accommodation facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Carry out a variety of housekeeping tasks and duties, to ensure accommodation facilities meet the high standards the company expects.
* Assist with the serving and take down of breakfasts and dinners
* Assist the duty chef in preparing food as and when required
* Respond to customer inquiries and assist with requests professionally, to ensure a positive guest experience.
* Report any safety hazards or potential issues to site management promptly.
* Maintain a friendly and positive attitude when interacting with both guests and the team.
What We’re Looking For:
* Proven experience in a similar role within a fast-paced, customer focused environment.
* Good team and interpersonal skills.
* Lots of common sense and ability to use your initiative
* A passion for high standards, with a keen eye for detail.
* Good knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards – full training will be provided.
* Flexibility and adaptability to work in a rotational, remote location.
* A positive, proactive attitude and strong communication skills.
* Previous experience in remote or specialized locations is a plus.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
* This role would suit those working at Level 4 – Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework
* Previous experience in a similar role is highly desirable.
* Recognized food hygiene certification is highly desirable.
* Experience in bar work or serving alcohol is desirable.
* Experience working in a dynamic environment with changing priorities is highly desirable
