Job Advert: Occupational Hygiene Technician

We have a fantastic opportunity for a motivated Occupational Hygiene Technician to join our enthusiastic and supportive multidisciplinary team at Hinkley Point C near Bridgwater, Somerset.
About the Role
This is a full-time, permanent position, working Monday to Friday on-site. The role involves shift work, including:
– Day shifts (8am – 4pm)
– Back shifts (3pm – 11pm)
– Night shifts (10pm – 6am)
– Occasional weekend shifts (approximately 1 in 4)
Enhanced pay is offered for out-of-standard-hours working.
What You’ll Be Doing
As an Occupational Hygiene Technician, your key responsibilities will include:
? Performing occupational hygiene monitoring and surveys for chemical, physical, and biological agents.
? Conducting workplace inspections to assess occupational hygiene risks.
? Assisting with occupational hygiene-related investigations and studies.
? Supporting the preparation and delivery of training on occupational hygiene topics.
? Contributing to occupational hygiene performance reports.
About You
The ideal candidate will be a strong team player, ideally with experience in industrial and/or construction environments. You will have:
? Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
? IT proficiency, including experience with Microsoft Office 365 and Teams.
? A STEM degree (desirable but not essential).
? Affiliation with the Faculty of Occupational Hygiene (AFOH), working towards the Certificate of Operational Competence in Occupational Hygiene (CertOH) (training can be provided).
