Favourable day shiftsMinimum 6-8 week assignment, possibly longer for the right individualDrivers preferable, as you may be required to use the company vanGrounds Maintenance OperativePurpose of the Role:Reporting to the Grounds Maintenance Supervisor, you’ll provide high-quality, customer-focused estate services. This includes gardening, grounds maintenance, and external repair work across a variety of properties. You will help maintain clean, safe, and attractive neighbourhoods and support performance and customer satisfaction goals.All successful applicants will be subject to a DBS check.Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out gardening and grounds maintenance tasks including grass cutting, planting, weeding, and shrub care, using hand tools and horticultural machinery.
- Perform seasonal external work such as fencing and slab repairs.
- Use mobile technology to support field-based work and ensure safety using provided equipment.
- Maintain a high standard of estate presentation and support neighbourhood teams in delivering excellent service.
- Deliver professional, polite customer service and escalate enquiries where needed.
- Monitor and report on performance and help identify improvements.
- Adhere to health and safety procedures, including use of PPE and compliance with risk assessments and COSHH guidelines.
- Recognise and act on safeguarding concerns in line with policies.
- Work collaboratively and contribute to continuous service improvement.
- Undertake other duties as required by the Supervisor.
Requirements:
- Experience in grounds maintenance and operating relevant tools/machinery.
- Comfortable working outdoors in all seasons and conditions.
- Good communication skills and a customer-first attitude.
- Ability to work independently and in a team, managing time and workload effectively.
- Basic maintenance skills and willingness to undertake training.
- A full, clean driving licence is preferred.
- Awareness of safeguarding, health and safety, and equality standards.
Rate of pay: £12.60 per hourHours of work: Days – 0900-1700 TBCPersonal Qualities:
