Hornington Manor is a unique barn, wedding venue set within the grounds of a working farm in Bolton Percy, near Tadcaster.Part of Harrison Spinks, a family business, were not your average business however, if youre willing to work hard, get stuck in and have some fun along the way, then wed love to welcome you to our team.

We are looking for a Head Housekeeper to join our team at Hornington Manor.

Hours of Work: 40 hours per week (5 days over 7).

The role: Reporting to the General Manager, the Head Housekeeper will be responsible for ensuring that all Hornington bedrooms, public areas, Shepherd Huts and external guest accommodation is clean and presented to the highest standard at all times.With full accountability for all housekeeping matters, the Head Housekeeper will display a passionate commitment in everything they do and have a great eye for detail, ensuring that every guest who stays is wowed.The Head Housekeeper will also be responsible for all accommodation bookings.

The successful candidate must hold a full U.K. Driving Licence to be able to cover off site properties.

KEY DUTIES:-

  • Manage the cleaning staff along with their hours and tasks for all the venue, Shepherds Huts and off-site properties.
  • Responsible for checking all cleaning staff work and ensuring standards are upheld.
  • Responsible for all guest satisfaction and online reviews.
  • Manage all necessary stock/order of housekeeping equipment, laundry and sundries.
  • Responsibility for compiling an ongoing training programme for all housekeeping staff.
  • Conduct induction training with all housekeeping staff and keep appropriate records.
  • Assist in the organisation of rotas for cleaning duties for all accommodation and public areas.
  • Assist in the organisation, distribution and collection of clean and dirty linen.
  • Conduct the monthly stocktake and complete appropriate paperwork.
  • Liaise with suppliers on an ongoing basis.
  • Responsible for checking machinery and equipment for faults and report any defects to the maintenance team or General Manager.
  • Responsible for ensuring that procedures are in place and are followed to report any hazards, faults and problems in the bedrooms and public areas to the maintenance team.
  • Maintain equipment, store cupboards and the Housekeeping office.
  • Be aware of security at all times and ensure all cupboards and storage areas are kept locked after completion of bedrooms.
  • Attend training sessions as required.
  • Ensure correct procedures are in place for reporting accidents.
  • Be aware of individual responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work Act and ensure safe working methods are observed at all times.
  • Ensure that all COSHH sheets are up to date and all housekeeping personnel have read them, understand and are fully aware.
  • Comply with all Company rules outlined in the Handbook and on the Saeker system.
  • Notify the General Manager and HR department in the event of housekeeping absences from work for whatever reason.
  • Wear and maintain the uniform provided, as well as your team.
  • Any additional duties that may be requested by the General Manager within reason.

KEY SKILLS:-

  • Experience in managing a team and training them.
  • Background in 4* and hospitality / hotel setting for standards
  • A good understanding of managing linen stock, chemicals and consumables.
  • Experience of maintaining a high cleaning standard.
  • Motivation to improve service and team performance.
  • Great organisational skills.
  • A bright and clear communication style.
  • Experience of Guest Services or Hospitality.
  • Pride in what you do with a great attention to detail.
