About the role: We are seeking a passionate and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our dynamic team in January 2025. This is a full-time, long-term position created to strengthen classroom support and contribute to student success.
As an HLTA, you will work closely with teachers in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, leading small group sessions, supporting classroom activities, and occasionally covering lessons. The role includes working with a range of students, including those with additional needs, in classes of approximately 25 pupils. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a vital role in a supportive and forward-thinking environment where your contributions will be valued.
Application Requirements:
• A relevant HLTA qualification or equivalent experience.• Proven experience in primary education, preferably within Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2.• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to lead lessons effectively.• Experience supporting children with SEN and adapting to their needs.• A proactive, team-oriented attitude with excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan and deliver engaging lessons and activities under the teacher’s guidance.• Provide one-on-one and small-group support to students needing extra assistance.• Assist in managing classroom behavior, ensuring a positive and productive atmosphere.• Cover classes during teacher absences, delivering pre-prepared lessons confidently.• Collaborate with teachers and SEN coordinators to implement individual learning plans.
