Join a dedicated local authority team in Sheffield as an Accommodation & Support Matching Officer. This role is essential in providing immediate support and accommodation solutions for homeless applicants. The position is based in the city centre office with no hybrid working option, requiring a full-time commitment Monday to Friday.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Booking homeless applicants into hotels as required using a dedicated hotel portal.
- Inputting data accurately into databases and managing records.
- Handling phone calls with various stakeholders including homeless applicants, hotels, and other accommodation providers.
- Engaging directly with homeless applicants, providing them with necessary assistance and information.
- Working efficiently to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaborating effectively within a small team to ensure seamless operation and support delivery.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proficient IT skills, particularly in database management.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of handling sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask.
- Experience in a similar role or environment would be advantageous.
