We are working with a large, vibrant primary school near the coast in South Lancing that is looking for a committed Individual Needs Assistant to join their supportive team this September. About the Role – What You’ll Be Doing:
As an Individual Needs Assistant, you will be providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with additional learning, social, or emotional needs. Your role will be to help children engage with their learning, build confidence, and develop positive relationships with their peers and staff.
Your responsibilities will include:
Supporting children with special educational needs, helping them to access a rich and varied curriculum
Providing targeted assistance with learning tasks and emotional regulation
Encouraging pupils’ independence and resilience both in and out of the classroom
Collaborating closely with teachers and SEN staff to deliver personalised support strategies
Helping to foster a safe, happy, and inclusive school environment where every child feels valued
What We’re Looking For:
Experience working with children with additional needs (SEN), or a related qualification (desirable)
A caring, energetic, and proactive approach to supporting children
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
A genuine commitment to helping children achieve their full potential
An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
