Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Inventory Controller to oversee and manage our inventory processes. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining optimal stock levels, ensuring accurate inventory records, and facilitating efficient shipping and receiving operations. This position requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage stock levels to ensure optimal inventory availability.
- Conduct regular stock audits and reconcile discrepancies in inventory records.
- Utilise a Warehouse Management System (WMS) to track inventory movements and maintain accurate records.
- Collaborate with the shipping and receiving teams to ensure timely processing of incoming and outgoing goods.
- Negotiate with suppliers for favourable terms and pricing on inventory purchases.
- Implement category management strategies to optimise product placement and turnover.
- Prepare reports
- Maintain a clean and organised warehouse environment.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in inventory management or a related field, preferably within retail management or warehouse settings.
- Strong understanding of category management principles.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by the role.
- Proficiency in using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) for tracking stock levels.
- Experience with data analysis tools such as Tableau is advantageous.
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to build strong supplier relationships.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
Hours of work :
- Monday Friday: 06:00 15:00 / 11:00-20:00
- Saturday Sunday: 08:00 17:00
- Weekend availability required
