Role &Responsibilities:
- Provide first line helpdesk support for client queries
- Provide second line support to helpdesk queries logged on the helpdesk system
- Manage the online helpdesk system for the school (Freshdesk) adding new jobs as required.
- Ensure all systems managed are up to date with anti virus software and software updates.
- Manage the MGL onsite and offsite backup solution for the school and monitor the daily backup log to ensure it is fully operational
- Provide support for MGLs filtration/firewall solution (Smoothwall) with daily monitoring and undertaking helpdesk requests for site allow/block.
- Responsible for completing equipment build and installation.
- Establish a good working knowledge of Active Directory, wireless infrastructure, educational software titles, Windows Deployment, hardware support, adding users, system backup, managing anti virus software, installing new software, managing printers.
- Able to diagnose and rectify hardware faults
- Become familiar with maintaining a managed wireless infrastructure such as Unifi
Full training and support will be provided throughout your apprenticeship by both Baltic Apprenticeships and the employer.
Desired qualities, skills & knowledge:
- Technical/professional knowledge with a level of understanding and ability to use technical/professional information.
- Good oral and written communication able to communicate information to groups or individuals
- Proactive liaising with clients and MGL staff to ensure issues are resolved
- Initiative self-starter in taking action to achieve a goal
- Maths Grade C/4 and English Grade C/5 is required for this role
Salary, Hours&Benefits:
- £14,000 – £16,000 per annum
- Monday Friday, 8am-4pm or 9am – 5pm
- 37.5hours per week
- 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
There are career progression opportunities available upon completion of the programme. You, along with your employer, may progress to a Level 4 programme, and take your training even further.
Your Training with Baltic:
This apprenticeship provides the skills, qualifications and experience you need to immerse yourself in an exciting, fast-moving industry and become an effective IT Support Technician.
Beyond the fundamental apprenticeship modules, you’ll delve into two Be-Spoke modules and one advanced Expert module. This personalised approach will hone your abilities and deepen your expertise, positioning you as a true leader in your field.
