The Role:
As a Junior Costs Draftsman, you will be responsible for handling lower-value bills across Personal Injury, Housing Disrepair, and Credit Hire cases. Key Responsibilities:
* Drafting bills of costs for lower-value Personal Injury, Housing Disrepair, and Credit Hire claims.
* Assisting in the preparation of Points of Dispute and Replies.
* Liaising with clients, solicitors, and third-party insurers regarding costs.
* Providing support to senior costs draftsmen on higher-value and complex cases as part of your development.
* Managing your workload efficiently to meet deadlines and client expectations.
* Keeping up-to-date with relevant costs law and developments.
Candidate Requirements:
* Previous experience as a Costs Draftsman (preferably with exposure to Personal Injury, Housing Disrepair, or Credit Hire cases) is advantageous but not essential.
* A keen interest in costs law and the desire to build a long-term career in this specialist area.
* Strong attention to detail, with the ability to handle technical and numerical information accurately.
* Good communication skills and the ability to build relationships with colleagues and clients.
* Self-motivated, organised, and eager to learn.
* Willingness to engage in ongoing training and development.
