About the role:
We’re looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant (EAL) to join our welcoming and supportive school community in Barnet, London. As a Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our youngest learners during a formative stage in their education. Your primary focus will be assisting students with English as an Additional Language (EAL), helping them develop their communication skills and build confidence in their abilities.
Through tailored support and creative approaches, you’ll ensure that EAL students feel empowered to fully participate in all classroom activities, enabling them to thrive academically and socially. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children by providing them with the tools they need to succeed, both inside and outside the classroom. Whether through one-on-one support, small group work, or collaboration with teachers, your contributions will help shape a positive and inclusive learning environment for all.
Application Requirements:
• Has previous experience working with young children, ideally in a Key Stage 1 setting.
• Demonstrates patience, empathy, and enthusiasm for supporting learners with diverse needs.
• Has strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Is adaptable and works well as part of a team.
• Has a genuine passion for education and helping children achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supporting EAL students in developing their English language skills.
• Assisting the class teacher with lessons and interventions to boost learning outcomes.
• Encouraging independent learning and resilience among students.
