Part-Time LSA in Primary School – Gosport Area
Starting January 2025
Salary: £78 – 90 per day (depending on experience)
About the School:
The school is an Ofsted rated ‘Good’ primary school in the Gosport area. They are looking for a Learning Support Assistant to start in September, on a part-time basis with the possibility of becoming a permanent role.
Job Description:
The Support Staff role at encompasses a diverse range of responsibilities aimed at supporting both students and teachers. You will actively engage in the learning process by collaborating closely with teaching staff to assist in planning and delivering lessons across various subjects. Your role will involve providing personalised support to students, which could include 1:1 work for children with additional needs, to give them the guidance necessary for their academic progress.
Key Responsibilities:
– Ensure a safe and secure environment both within the school and during out-of-school activities.
– Implement school policies as outlined in documentation and as directed by the Headteacher.
– Represent the school positively within the community.
– Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information encountered during duties.
– Adhere to the school’s Equal Opportunities policy.
– Follow the school’s Health and Safety policy and ensure procedures are followed during accidents or incidents.
– Supervise and manage pupil behaviour throughout the school day, including lunchtime and breaks (or as hours allow), in accordance with school policies and individual behaviour management plans.
Requirements:
– Previous experience working as an LSA or in a similar role within an educational setting is desirable.
– A passion for education and supporting students’ academic and personal development.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
– Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
– Patience, adaptability, and a positive attitude towards challenges.
– Experience with SEN children is an asset
Qualifications:
– Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
– Relevant qualifications in Teaching Assistance or Education are advantageous but not essential.
