Job title:Learning Support Assistant
Location: Redbridge
Setting: Mainstream Secondary School
Pay rate: £80 – £110 per day (Depending on experience)
Working hours: 8:30 – 16:00 (Term time only)
Active Recruitment are working with a fantastic mainstream Secondary school who are recruiting for an SEN Learning Support Assistant to work within their ASD Unit, providing additional behavioural and academic support to children with moderate to severe Autism. The ideal candidate would have experience providing support to children with complex needs, both emotionally and physically. It is a long-term position with the opportunity to go permanent for the right candidate. The school itself is highly reputable in the area, with state-of-the-art facilities and an exceptional leadership team who can provide additional training and development wherever necessary.
Duties and responsibilities
· Assisting students with their learning development, on a 1-1 and group basis
· To have a good understanding of Autistic behavioural needs and show patience and understanding at all times.
· Providing support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to have the highest expectation that every student will make sustained academic and personal progress
· Work alongside classroom teachers to be that extra support during lessons
· To ensure that the area is a safe environment for the child at all times.
· To develop and maintain relationships with parents and carers.
