* Experience working in a Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) needs environment or a Special Educational Needs (SEN) school is ideal, preferable backgrounds in tutoring with English and Maths is welcomed.

The Role – Learning Support Assistant
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to support students aged 5 -16 in developing vital life skills, with the aim of aiding their progress into further education. The role requires managing challenging behaviour, so prior experience in behaviour management is essential. While experience in a SEMH environment or similar setting is preferable, a background in tutoring or mentoring is also valued, to help guide student through their GCSE’s.

This SEMH School is based in Merton, with close transport links to the DLR. The school looks after a total of 117 pupils, aged 5 – 16 all taught in small sized classes. Many of which have additional needs including ADHD, speech. Language and communication needs. The school also maintains a Good rating issued by Ofsted as of 2022.
