Learning Support Assistant – Special needs
Do you have experience working with challenging behaviour? Are you interested in supporting young people’s Mental Health?
A PRU (Pupil Referral Unit) in north Bristol area is currently recruiting for a learning support assistant to join them ASAP. The PRU cater for children and young adults who have been excluded from mainstream education or are in a transition period before finding a place in a specialist setting.

£83-£95 per day, depending on experience
Full-time, Monday – Friday 8.30am to 4pm

Providing learning support KS2 to KS4 students who have trauma, SEN, behavioural disorders as well as other mental health issues.
1:1 assistance for pupils with Special Needs and Challenging Behaviour and have learning disabilities such as Autism.
Working alongside fully trained therapists and psychologists as well as other professionals within the education/mental health field.
An excellent opportunity to expand your classroom experience prior to undertaking teacher training and becoming a fully qualified classroom teacher.The right candidate
Experience working with children required
A graduate (2:2 or above – Psychology and Criminology desirable) or experienced teaching assistant / learning support assistant who is passionate about Special Educational Needs and Behavioural Needs
