More about the role:

Reporting to the Service Charge Team Leader you will assist in the production of the annual service charge setting process. Ensuring these service charges are calculated and set in line with company policy, current legislation/regulations, and best practice. Providing customers with accurate and timely financial information and dealing with associated queries that may arise.

The successful person will:

* Assist with the annual service charge setting process for fixed and variable service charges across the Association.

* Produce and distribute relevant financial and service charge information to prospective and existing customers, solicitors, managing agents, Housing Benefit, and other partners in line with internal policies, best practice, and current legislation.

* Develop and maintain systems to record, monitor and report on service charge expenditure against budget and disseminate this information to budget holders on an ongoing basis.

* Respond to service charge queries from leaseholders and tenants. Tackling such matters in a timely, sensitive, and effective manner and liaising with other departments and contractors as required. Ensuring appropriate staff and third parties are involved as needed and escalating to the Service Charge Team Leader as required.

* Develop and maintain an up-to-date knowledge base around service charges and leasehold finance. Attending training and external conference as and when requested.

Who you are:

* Have a knowledge of the social housing environment, leasehold tenure and service charge legislation and are keen to learn and develop this knowledge.

* Experienced in working in a complex financial environment, with a good understanding of financial principles and processes.

* Experienced in managing your personal workload to meet targets and deadlines.

* Can develop and maintain effective financial monitoring systems and to understand spreadsheets to an intermediate level.

* Can analyse and manipulate complex information and produce reports and statistics when required.

* Can read, interpret, explain, and present key information to customers and contractors.

* Can fully utilise standard Microsoft Office products and have a working knowledge of other management systems.
