One of Exeter’s top law firms is looking to hire a Legal PA / Practice Assistant into their busy and successful team. This is a really important role within the Exeter office, as it involves supporting a number of lawyers with their day-to-day work, as well as being client-facing and also integral to the running of the office. As the single point of contact for fee earners and the completion of their work, the role with undertake all aspects of the Practice Assistant role, or where appropriate, manage the workflow by utilising Team Assistants and Shared Services, retaining ownership and accountability of all tasks through to completion. Provide a high quality, comprehensive workflow management and organisational service to fee earners in the group and exceptional client service.

Areas of responsibility include:

Client relationship management – becoming an active part of managing client relationships, managing the production of documents, taking and making client calls, assisting with client tenders, and more.

Administrative duties – opening and closing of files, compliance administration, managing timelines and deadlines, supporting fee-earners with business development activities, managing diaries, travel arrangement and general other office administration.

Communication – being a key point of contact for both internal lawyers and also clients, drafting of documents and communication, answering phone calls, minute taking, email communication.

Financials – assisting lawyers with event billing and credit control process, completion of billing to an accurate level, requesting of bank cheques, BACS and other payments, managing expenses and other financial admin support.

Previous experience sought:

We are ideally looking for someone who has worked within a legal environment before, within a support role.

Previous experience of supporting lawyers with both general admin, finance and client relationships.

An organised and efficient approach.

A credible persona.
