We are currently recruiting for a Loading Bay Team Leader for our well established client in Barrow LE12.
Pay Rate:
£14.20ph
Working Hours:
Monday – Friday
Contract:
Temp to Perm – Full-time Hours
Can be offered a full-time permanent contract with 12 successful weeks with Blue Arrow.

Duties:
* Effectively operate a safe working environment to support the function of the team.
* Adhere to the health and safety practices and procedures whilst working on site.
* To lead the team to ensure contact between the loading bay operation and other departments is carried out.
* Providing high quality safety observations
* To be the ‘go-to’ person for the site, for holidays, uniform, shift changes/cover.
* Drive productivity and effectiveness by leading an approach that is consistent with demand (i.e. trailers loaded).
* This is a hands-on role, designed to ensure that gaps in cover can be supported.
* Being partially yard based, observe activities in the yard from time-to-time and become
a generic resource, fitting in where needed.
* Issue work permits in accordance with site rules.
* Lead communications up and down stream for this remit.
* Complete the requisite number of safety observations on yard/driver activity.
* Liaise with the traffic office on observed anomalies and/or poor practice.
* Liaise appropriately and constructively with the team as required.
About You:
* Experience/knowledge of transport/warehouse practices
* Understanding of safe working practices
* Operational understanding of team roles
* Good communication skills
* Active decision making
* Previous experience of administration tasks and duties.
* Minimum of 1 year in a warehouse/industrial setting working with
commercial vehicles, movements and vehicle loading.
* Minimum 1 year working in MHE centric environments.
* Some supervisory/leadership experience
* Minimum of 3 years in industrial settings such as warehouses,
production units.
* Minimum 2 years in HGV movement environments.
