Teaching Assistant – SRB Unit (Primary) – Barry – Long-Term Role
Location: Barry
Start Date: September 1st
Pay: From £88.94 per day (increasing with experience, qualifications, and client rate)
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to work within a Specialist Resource Base (SRB) in a vibrant primary school in Barry. This is a long-term position starting from September 1st, with the potential for further extension based on performance and school needs.
About the Role:
You will be supporting children with a diverse range of additional needs, including:
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
ADHD
General behavioural and social-emotional challenges
✅ Essential Criteria:
Experience as a Teaching Assistant within a Primary School setting
Ability to work effectively with children with additional learning needs
Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain)
EWC registration (Education Workforce Council)
Desirable:
Relevant qualifications such as Level 2 or Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning
Previous experience in an SRB or similar setting
Proven success working 1:1 with pupils with complex needs
