The Company

Our client is a market leading manufacturing company. To cover maternity, they are now looking to recruit a Materials Planner.

The Role

  • As a Material Planner, you will play an integral part in ensuring all key components are available to support the agreed weekly/monthly production plan and support the business achieving its key measurables.
  • You will also play a fundamental role in the management of all materials related to production on site.
  • Raising and issuing of purchase orders from purchase requests.
  • Chasing suppliers for delivery confirmations and updating internal systems accordingly.
  • Purchase of goods, materials and services in line with specified cost, quality and delivery targets.
  • Liaise with suppliers to maintain standard data such as lead time.
  • Manage and monitor overdue orders, communicating supply risks accordingly.
  • Ensure that all standard work routines are correctly followed.
  • Ensuring weekly production plans are on track and clear awareness of any impact on inventory.
  • Management of full MRP ensuring accuracy of data supports clear tactical and strategic decision making.
  • Management of all expiring/short dated raw material components, supporting planning manager with associated cross-functional meeting.
  • Identification and management of strategic stock holding locally, partnering with the warehousing to ensure effective on-site management.

The Person

  • Must have previous experience in a Materials Planner within manufacturing.
  • You will have experience using MRP systems and excellent IT skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong time management and prioritisation skills.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Good communication skill.
  • Have good interpersonal skills.
