08:30-15:00 – Term-time only
£85-100 per day depending on experience
Based in Rowde
We are working with a delightful specialist school in Rowde who support young people aged 11-18 with Autism and other severe learning disabilities. They are looking for a compassionate Mental Health Support Assistant to join their wonderful team ASAP on a full-time basis.
As a Mental Health Support Assistant, you will work with students, teachers and psychological professionals to gain valuable hands-on experience in the world of specialist education. The role of a Mental Health Support Assistant is perfect for someone who strives to have a meaningful and rewarding career in education or psychology. Your day would include:
Supporting young people in the classroom on a 1 to 1 or group basis
Working with complex social, emotional and behavioural issues to provide the best support possible
Create a safe and supportive learning environment
Support and encourage emotional awareness
Develop and implement individual support plans in collaboration with educational staffThe right Mental Health Support Assistant will:
Have experience working with young people – preferred but not essential
Have a bubbly and outgoing personality
Be someone who is capable of staying calm and compassionate in tricky situations
Have plenty of patience
Have a genuine passion to support young people with additional needs
