MFL Language Teaching Assistant: Now Hiring!

Horizon Teachers are looking for a reliable, enthusiastic, and organised Language Assistant to support students in Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) across all key stages at a top secondary school in Croydon. The role involves delivering and evaluating small group or one-to-one interventions, helping students access the curriculum, and working with teaching staff to implement effective support strategies. Additional responsibilities include admin support, preparing classroom displays, and assisting with exam preparation.
Applicants must be fluent in either French or Spanish, with at least conversational ability in the other. Patience, strong communication skills, and the ability to build positive relationships with students are essential. Experience leading MFL activities and using behaviour management strategies is required.
Candidates must have strong IT skills, excellent spoken and written English, and a TA qualification (NVQ Level 2 or 3). An understanding of the challenges faced by students with additional needs is also important.

Key Responsibilities:
MFL Support:
oDeliver small group or one-to-one interventions in French or Spanish, supporting students in accessing the curriculum across all key stages.
Collaboration & Strategy Implementation:
oWork closely with teaching staff to implement strategies that support students’ academic progress and help them achieve their potential.
Administrative & Classroom Support:
oAssist with classroom displays, exam preparation, and other administrative tasks to help streamline the teaching process.
Behaviour Management & Relationship Building:
oUse effective behaviour management strategies to support a positive learning environment and build constructive relationships with students.
