Minibus Driver

Job Overview
Russell Taylor are seeking a minibus driver (D1) to work for a client based in the Dewsbury area.

This role will involve the transportation of people to and from various places such as schools, hospitals etc.

This role pays £11.79 and the role is for 20 hours per week. (0800-1000 & 1430-1630).

Candidates must have at least 6 months of driving a minibus with a D1 category on their licence.

This is a temporary contract lasting 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate the bus on designated routes, ensuring timely arrivals and departures.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe operating condition.
• Communicate effectively with passengers regarding route information and any delays.
• Assist passengers with boarding and alighting from the bus, ensuring their safety at all times.
• Manage passenger behaviour and enforce safety rules during transit.
• Report any mechanical issues or maintenance needs to the appropriate personnel promptly.
• Keep accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, and passenger counts as required.

Requirements

• Valid commercial driving licence with appropriate endorsements for operating a mini bus.
• Strong mechanical knowledge to identify basic vehicle issues and perform minor repairs if necessary.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
• Ability to maintain composure under pressure and handle unexpected situations calmly.
• A strong commitment to safety regulations and practices while driving.
