Waking Night – Children’s Home Residential Practitioner
Location: Brockley, SE4
Salary: £25,300 – £28,000
Hours: Full-time, 40hours per week

OwnLife Group are looking to appoint a Residential Practitioner to join our team. Reporting to the manager, you will be responsible maintaining a safe and secure environment for children and young people during the night. You will be responsible for ensuring the home operates smoothly and addressing any needs that may arise overnight. This is a full time and permanent role (40 hours a week).

Key Responsibilities:

The key responsibilities of a Residential Practitioner, but are not limited to:

* Build positive relationships with children and young people, fostering trust and understanding.

* Provide support, and supervision in line with individual care plans.

* Understand and proactively respond to each young person’s needs and requirements.

* Maintain accurate records and follow policies and procedures to ensure the highest standards of care.

* Provide continuous care and supervision for children and young people throughout the night, ensuring their safety and well-being.

* Respond sensitively and effectively to the needs of children during the night.

* Conduct regular checks on the home and young people as outlined in individual care plans.

* Manage and respond to emergencies calmly and in line with organisational policies and procedures.

* Complete all necessary documentation accurately, including incident reports and nightly logs.

* Uphold safeguarding and child protection standards, ensuring all practices adhere to regulatory requirements.

What We’re Looking For:

* Experience working with children or young people in a residential home

* A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)

* Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.

* A compassionate, patient, and understanding approach to care.

* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
