The Role:
Silcom Recruitment is excited to support our esteemed client, a growing family-run dealership group, in their search for a dedicated Part-Time Accounts Assistant at their Gloucester location. This opportunity comes as the business experiences continued success and expansion, making it an exciting time for the right candidate. You should have a background in banking, cash books, and accounts processes and be eager to enhance your skills and knowledge in this area.
Responsibilities & Requirements of an Accounts Assistant:
Reconcile and post daily banking transactions.
Scan and post purchase ledger invoices into the system.
Clear unallocated payments on the purchase ledger.
Post and reconcile petty cash transactions.
Reconcile supplier statements.
Verify sublet purchase invoices as needed.
Perform credit control duties.
Post daily bank statements and complete bank reconciliations.
Conduct monthly BACS runs.
Manage sales and purchase ledger reconciliations.
Assist with other month-end tasks as requested by the accountant.
Undertake ad hoc projects at the request of the accountant.
Collaborate with other departments to improve systems and communication.
Who We Are Looking For:
AAT qualified or part-qualified.Prior experience in accounts/finance roles is essential.
Proficiency in Excel.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with non-finance teams.
Analytical mindset with excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Self-starter with the initiative to work both independently and as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to review work accurately.
Quick learner who can understand and follow processes effectively.
The Package:
Salary: £15,860 per annum (£12.20 per hour).
Hours: Part-time, 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday with flexibility.
