Are you detail-oriented, dedicated, and ready to make an impact? Saint John Southworth Catholic Academy Trust is seeking a Payroll and Finance Assistant to join our Central Services Team. This permanent, full-time role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a growing Trust, established in 2021 by Cardinal Vaughan Memorial School and St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School, with the mission to support and nurture the growth of every pupil within our community.
About the Role
As a Payroll and Finance Assistant, you’ll be the backbone of our payroll and finance operations, ensuring smooth, accurate, and timely processing of payroll and pensions for the Trust. You will manage payroll systems, work closely with the Finance and HR teams, and ensure compliance with all relevant pension schemes, tax regulations, and our financial policies. This role requires a high level of confidentiality, organisation, and precision to meet deadlines and support the financial integrity of our schools.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle payroll and pension processing across the Trust, including Teachers’ and Local Government Pension Schemes.
- Process payroll changes, prepare monthly schedules, and respond to payroll-related queries.
- Provide essential financial information, support budget planning, and maintain compliance with HMRC and pension requirements.
- Contribute to our commitment to safeguarding, equity, and Catholic values within the Trust.
What We’re Looking For
