A bit about us:

We are a small independent rural pre-school situated in the heart of Winterslow and we have good relationships with the local community. We take children from 2 to 4 years. Staff aim to foster the growth of our children, both academically and socially so that they can flourish into confident and happy individuals. We have recently been rated Good by OfSTED with a comment that staff are dedicated to the learning and development of our children. The successful candidate will be joining a professional and committed team.

All about the role:

We require someone who can inspire and lead our staff team towards educational excellence for the children. Someone who is a hard-working practitioner and knowledgeable about all aspects of learning and teaching in the Early years.

We also require someone who:-

  • Can provide exciting, age-appropriate and inspiring learning experiences both indoors and outdoors
  • Is committeed to keeping the children at the heart of the teaching and learning process
  • Has excellent understanding of the EYFS curriculum
  • Is a team player who can demonstrate good interpersonal skills and who is reflective and resilient
  • Is enthusiastic and able to work with initiative
  • Can support the effective use of all necessary assessment procedures
  • Is an excellent communicator
  • Is committeed to safeguarding and inclusion

Some other Duties:

  1. To build an environment where the children feel happy, secure and are rewarded for their efforts this will require a positive outlook.
  2. To have detailed knowledge of current Early Years legislation and to ensure the fulfilment of all legal, statutory and Early Years obligations e.g. maintaining daily registers.
  3. To create a warm, welcoming environment where parents feel at ease and are encouraged to become involved in their childs learning.
  4. To oversee the Managers budget, logging all expenditure.
  5. In liaison with the Deputy Manager, devise a programme of Holiday Club activities for at least 8 weeks of the year for children up to age 10
  6. An ability to actively market the pre-school to maximise numbers on roll.
  7. To facilitate all statutory training and continuous professional development, including performance management.
