Description

Salary: £25,000 to £27,000 pro rata depending on qualifications and experience

Closing date for applications: Monday 2 December 2024

AlphaPlus is an education service business specialising in standards, assessment and certification. We help our clients design, develop, deploy and evaluate qualifications and their underpinning assessments. Our work spans the public and private sectors, schools, colleges, vocational and professional learning. We have a core team of over 60 staff primarily based in our Manchester head office, and in addition draw upon a team of approximately 800 associates.

We are pleased to announce that we now have three new vacancies for the role of project manager – trialling in our service delivery team. They are initially offered as six-month fixed-term contracts with the possibility of progression to permanent employment at the end of the contract.

Trialling is a key component of our assessment work, being the means by which we evaluate the effectiveness of tests prior to their roll-out. Participants in trials may be whole schools, classes or individuals as specified by the project requirements.

This role presents an excellent opportunity for graduates with a passion for and interest in a career in the education sector to experience working in a fast-moving and dynamic education organisation. The postholders will report to the trialling manager and will work together with the trialling and services delivery team and project leaders. They will co-ordinate, oversee and manage all activities relating to the administration of trials and pre-tests in schools and other educational settings.

Eligible applicants will possess a first degree or higher, or significant equivalent relevant experience. A PGCE, teaching background, experience of test development, management or coordination, and/or of working in a customer facing role are all useful but not essential.

The position is full-time, working 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday and is Manchester office-based. We are seeking candidates who reside within commuting distance of the office or willing to relocate there.

We are an inclusive employer. Job share/other flexible working arrangements may be considered for the right candidate(s). Any such preferences should be indicated at the early application stage and can be discussed further at interview. The company offers hybrid working (two days per week minimum in the office, with three days working at home). The exact allocation of office-based days is decided by the appointee’s manager, although flexibility remains our policy and approach.

Normally the role will involve some travel including visits to schools. Benefits include:

* discretionary profit related bonus scheme

* NEST workplace pension scheme – tier 1

* enhanced sick pay cover

* enhanced maternity/parental leave

* 25 days paid leave plus the eight statutory bank holidays

* commitment to developing the expertise of our employees.

We expect to invite shortlisted candidates to an assessment and interview on 9 or 10 December 2024. These dates are provisional.

Please note that AlphaPlus is not licensed to offer sponsorship under the UK government’s skilled worker sponsorship scheme.
