A well-established children’s centre in Islington is seeking a confident and enthusiastic Room Leader to join their team on a full-time, all-year-round basis. This welcoming and inclusive setting provides high-quality early education and care for children aged 0–5, with a strong focus on child-led learning, emotional well-being, and partnership with families.
The setting is purpose-built with spacious, well-resourced indoor and outdoor areas, and a dedicated team committed to delivering outstanding early years provision. As Room Leader, you will take responsibility for leading your room’s daily operations, supporting a small team of practitioners, and ensuring children thrive in a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment.
The Role:
Full-time, permanent role (Monday to Friday, 52 weeks per year)
Lead the daily running of your room, ensuring high standards of care and education
Supervise, support, and mentor a team of practitioners
Plan and implement engaging activities in line with the EYFS framework
Work closely with parents, carers, and the wider staff team
Maintain high standards of safeguarding, health & safety, and record keeping
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Hold a full and relevant Level 3 childcare qualification (essential)
Have proven experience in an Early Years setting, ideally in a leadership role
Be confident in EYFS planning, assessment, and key person responsibilities
Demonstrate strong communication, leadership, and teamwork skills
Be passionate about providing high-quality learning experiences for young children
Be happy to work full-time and all year round
