Caretaker – Full-Time, Permanent
Location: Tunbridge Wells
Salary: KR 5 (£24,040 – £25,002)
Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Annual Leave: 27 days holiday
We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-respected secondary school, who are looking for a Caretaker to join their facilities team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a reliable, self-motivated individual with experience in building maintenance and site management to take on a key role in ensuring the smooth operation and safety of the premises.
Key Responsibilities:
* Carry out cleaning, maintenance, and minor repairs to keep the premises in top condition
* Ensure the safety and security of the site, including key holder responsibilities
* Support with site safety, such as fire alarm checks and emergency procedures
* Assist with porterage and distributing supplies across the premises
* Maintain external areas, ensuring paths and grounds are safe and presentable
* Adhere to Health & Safety regulations, including COSHH and fire safety protocols
Shift Patterns:
* 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM
* 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM
* 11:30 AM – 7:30 PM
(Shift patterns will rotate weekly, with a 30-minute lunch break)
Overtime opportunities are available and paid at the appropriate rate.
What We’re Looking For:
* Experience in building maintenance and cleaning
* Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations (COSHH, fire safety, etc.)
* Strong time management and the ability to work independently
* A practical, problem-solving approach to site management
