School Youth Worker – Primary & Secondary Schools

Forever Teaching are excited to be supporting multiple schools across Bolton in their search for a dedicated School Youth Worker. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about supporting young people on a 1:1 basis and helping them overcome barriers to learning and personal development. The role involves working with both primary and secondary pupils, making it ideal for someone looking for a varied and rewarding role across different age groups.
About the Role:
As a School Youth Worker, you will provide vital support to students across both primary and secondary schools, working closely with those who may be facing personal or emotional challenges. You’ll support students 1:1, helping them develop the social, emotional, and academic skills they need to succeed. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to cover classes in the absence of teaching staff, ensuring continuity of learning and maintaining a positive classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Work 1:1 with vulnerable pupils, offering emotional support and guidance.
* Support students in managing behaviour and developing coping strategies.
* Foster positive relationships with students, encouraging their personal and social development.
* Provide tailored support for students on a range of issues, including anxiety, self-esteem, and engagement in school life.
* Cover classes as required, ensuring lessons are delivered effectively and students stay engaged.
* Collaborate with teaching staff, school leadership, and external agencies to create support plans for students.
* Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback and support where needed.
Ideal Candidate:
* Previous experience working with young people, ideally in a school or youth work setting.
* A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable students and helping them achieve their potential.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with both students and staff.
* Ability to work independently, as well as part of a collaborative team.
* A flexible and adaptable approach to working with children of different ages and backgrounds.
* Experience covering classes or leading group activities is desirable but not essential.
