Your Role as a Secondary Teaching Assistant
In this role, you’ll provide focused academic support across your specialist subject, helping students develop confidence, subject mastery, and exam readiness. You’ll also work closely with department heads, gaining valuable experience in teaching, assessment, and classroom practice.
Key Responsibilities Include:
* Delivering 1:1 and small group support in your subject area (English, Maths, or Science)
* Assisting with lesson delivery, resource preparation, and pupil progress tracking
* Supporting revision, homework clubs, and academic mentoring
* Observing and learning from experienced teachers as part of a training pipeline
* Helping students achieve academic success across all key stages

* A graduate with a 2:1 or above in English, Maths, or Science (or related field)
* Strong subject knowledge and communication skills

* Ideally some experience working with young people, but not essential
