About the role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant specialising in SEMH needs, you will be working across Key Stages 1 and 2, supporting children who face various social, emotional, and behavioral challenges. Your role will involve fostering a positive, structured, and nurturing environment where students feel empowered to overcome barriers to learning. This position is ideal for someone with a compassionate and patient nature, who is dedicated to unlocking the potential of every child.
Application Requirements:
• Prior experience working with children with SEMH needs is preferred.
• A strong understanding of behavior management strategies.
• A calm, empathetic, and positive approach.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Flexibility and resilience to adapt to changing needs and environments.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide 1:1 or small group support to students with SEMH needs, helping them engage positively in classroom activities.
• Collaborate with teachers to plan and deliver targeted interventions that meet students’ individual needs.
• Support the development of social skills, emotional regulation, and positive behavior in students.
• Implement behavior management techniques to maintain a safe and supportive classroom environment.
• Assist in creating and adapting resources to support personalized learning goals.
