About the role:

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant with a specialism in SEMH to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will work closely with Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 students who require additional support to navigate their educational journey. This position is full-time and long-term, offering a unique opportunity to build meaningful relationships with students and staff alike. If you have experience in SEMH and a passion for fostering an environment where every child feels seen, safe, and supported, this role could be perfect for you.

Application Requirements:

• Relevant Experience: Previous experience working with children with SEMH needs or similar is essential.
• Qualifications: Relevant Teaching Assistant or SEN qualifications are preferred.
• Passion and Patience: An empathetic, understanding approach to children’s unique needs.
• Team Player: Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
• Commitment: A desire to make a lasting impact on children’s educational journeys.

Key Responsibilities:

• One-on-One Support: Provide targeted assistance to students with SEMH needs, tailoring approaches to each child’s unique challenges.
• Group Activities: Assist in group sessions that encourage social skills, resilience, and positive emotional regulation.
• Classroom Assistance: Work closely with the classroom teacher to create a safe, structured learning environment.
• Communication: Regularly liaise with parents, carers, and school staff to ensure cohesive support strategies for each child.
• Behavioural Management: Use positive reinforcement techniques and behavior management strategies to create a calm, inclusive atmosphere.
